Inspired by 2 Corinthians 4:7-10
“We have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in us.”
A personal note: I write my scripture inspiration on the first layer of each painting. As I wrote out this passage many times before beginning these pieces, I hope to keep it memorized forever. Then as I finished details on every petal, leaf, and each clay pot/vase being unique from the others…. this little collection has surprised my soul being one of the most profound projects because of the necessary daily reminder they represent - those of us in Christ are fragile vessels carrying the greatest treasure of all - the all surpassing Power of the Death and Life of our Lord.
