Would you like to partner with me to create a unique painting for your home?

Commissions

  • Step 1

You will need to pick a size and a budget for your piece/pieces. Listed below are some of the sizes that I currently offer and can purchase from my canvas supplier and the price range for each of them. If need be, I can try to find different sizes to accommodate the space you will be displaying your commission in your home. The price ranges are determined by the size of the piece, how much overall time is spent creating, and all the details that will be put into the painting; we will have more clarity and exact prices when reference photos have been chosen.

    Small: $90-$490 (Including sizes 5"x7”, 8”x8”, 8"x10", 9"x12")

    Medium: $390-$990 (Including sizes 11"x14", 12"x12", 12"x16", 16”x20")

    Large: $890-$2,990 (Including sizes 18"x24", 20"x20", 20"x30", 24"x36", 30”x30”)

    X-Large: $2,590-$5,990 (Including sizes (36"x36", 36"x48", 48"x48", 48"x60")

  • Step 2

You will need to choose your perfect photos for me to reference as I paint your pieces. Once you have chosen them or need any help choosing, send them my way via email. As you consider your reference photos please keep in mind my past and current landscape paintings. I paint mountains, trees, fields, flowers, oceans, skies, waterfalls, rivers, lakes, etc. I do not paint any form of lettering, homes or other architecture, animals, human portraits, basically anything that is not a landscape of God’s natural creation. Also, as you are searching for inspiration for your commission please keep in mind that I cannot copy any photographs exactly as you find them on the internet, this quickly can turn to plagiarism. If your desire is for me to copy a photo exactly it will need to be a photo you have taken personally or one that I have taken. Another option is that we work together to create a scene with imagination or use a variety of multiple inspiration photos from the internet to take bits and pieces from each photo, creating our very own unique scene.

  • Step 3

I would encourage you to take time to pray, seek the Lord, and discuss with your family what scripture you would like to be the inspiration behind the piece/pieces. For the first layer of all of my paintings I always paint the scripture that is inspiring that piece. As the painting develops and all the layers build we know that the scripture was the foundation. It must always be, in all that I do. On the back of the canvas I will write my signature, the scripture inspiration, and the title (which tends to be inspired by the specific scripture and I love to collaborate with my clients on the title as well). I am also willing to choose the scripture inspiration for your piece if that is what you prefer.

  • Step 4

Once we have all of the visual details squared away for your order I do request a 50% down deposit at the beginning of the commission process. This deposit confirms your commission order, assists in purchasing supplies and your canvas as well as pays for a portion of the time I will be creating.

  • Step 5

Consider the potential timeline - minimum amount of time for me to finish commissions is usually one month, but this is to be determined depending upon the size and amount of detail in your order, as well as my workload at the time.

  • Step 6

Now you get to watch your order come to life! During my creation process I will send you progress reports and photos.

Before delivery and final payment you will be able to give the final approval on photos of your finished commission and request any additional or different elements you would like me to adjust.

  • Step 7

Consider shipping and final delivery. Depending upon the size/weight of your commission and where you are located will determine shipping cost or if delivery is an option. Another option is picking up your order at my home studio to opt out of shipping costs or delivery fees. I must always note, once my paintings are in your possession I am no longer liable for any damage done (if the painting is accidentally punctured/torn, becomes damaged if you are moving, etc.) and my paintings are non-returnable or exchangeable. Please also note I do own the copyright as the creator to have photos and prints available of all my pieces, but you will have the beautiful advantage of owning the original piece. Upon delivery I will have a document for you to sign in agreement with these terms.
